Steve Turner is pleased to present Secrets Of Our Loves, a solo exhibition by Warsaw-based Julia Kowalska that features new paintings inspired by the mystery of love. The paintings consist of thin translucent layers of oil paint in unexpected colors that depict dimly lit images of bodies, faces and places. According to Kowalska, The images were born under the cover of night where romance, melancholy, calm and restlessness coexist.
Julia Kowalska (b. 1998, Warsaw), graduated with an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw (2022) and has had solo exhibitions at Kravitz Contemporary, London (2023) and Galeria Karowa, Warsaw (2022). She has also had works included in group exhibitions at The Curators Room, Barcelona (2023); Kravitz Contemporary, London (2022) and at the Hotel Warszawa Art Fair with Śmierć Człowieka (2022). This is her first exhibition with Steve Turner and her first in the United States.
