At the 2020 edition of Art Los Angeles Contemporary (ALAC), Steve Turner is pleased to present a single monumental painting by Siro Cugusi (Sardinia); a selection of hooked rugs Hannah Epstein (Toronto) and a selection of ceramic paintings by Kevin McNamee-Tweed (Iowa City).
Siro Cugusi (b. 1980, Sardinia,) earned a BFA and MFA in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts, Sassari. He has had solo exhibitions at Lux Art Institute, Encinitas (2017); Galleri Kant, Copenhagen (2018); Annarumma Gallery, Naples (2019) and Agencia De Transitos Culturales, Santa Cruz de Tenerife (2019). His work was included in Surface Tension at Steve Turner, Los Angeles in 2019 and he will open his first solo exhibition at Steve Turner on April 4, 2020. Cugusi lives and works in Sardinia.
Hannah Epstein earned a BA from Memorial University of Newfoundland (2009) and an MFA from Carnegie Mellon (2017). Recent solo exhibitions include those at HUB Gallery, Pennsylvania State University (2019); Museum of Contemporary Art, Toronto (2019) and Steve Turner, Los Angeles (2018 & 2019). Recent group exhibitions include those at Long Beach Museum of Art (2019); San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles (2019) and The Rooms, St. Johns, Newfoundland (2019). Epstein lives and works in Toronto. Epstein will open her third solo exhibition with Steve Turner on February 15, 2020.
Kevin McNamee-Tweed (b. 1984) grew up near Chapel Hill, North Carolina before studying at New York University where he earned a BFA (2008). After living in Austin, Texas for seven years, he moved to Iowa City to enroll in the MFA program at the University of Iowa where he will earn an MFA (2020). He has had solo exhibitions at The Still House Group, New York (2016); Rod Barton, London (2017); Shrine Gallery, New York (2018); Devening Projects, Chicago (2019) and Steve Turner, Los Angeles (2020). A new monograph on McNamee-Tweed’s ceramic paintings will be released in May 2020. He lives and works in Iowa City.
