Present Tense Future Perfect considers what ideas and images emerge from the space between present and future, the moment when reality and possibility collide. With works that convey the tension between pessimism and idealism, spirituality and nihilism, representation and conceptualism, the artists in the exhibition engage the complexity of contemporary socio-political concerns, revealing, reimagining and reworking common materials, familiar tropes, and recognizable images to explore cultural experience as a product of perspective.
