June 3 – July 9, 2016
Opening reception: Friday, June 3, 7-9
Steve Turner is pleased to present After Sonora, a solo exhibition of new paintings by Ivan Comas that are loosely based on the scenery of Sonora, a state in northern Mexico that Comas recently explored in depth, wandering slowly between its red and yellow desert and and its blue coastline. He uses a combination of digital printing and more traditional painting processes to convey his impressions of this diverse landscape.
Ivan Comas (born 1987, Buenos Aires) earned an MA at École des Beaux-Arts (2014). In 2015 he had solo exhibitions at Steve Turner, Los Angeles and Duve, Berlin. He was also featured with a solo booth at Art Berlin Contemporary (Steve Turner, 2015) and with two-person booths at artBO (Steve Turner, 2015) and Zona Maco (Duve, 2016).
