Steve Turner 갤러리는 2022년 KIAF에서 처음으로 한국에서 작품을 선보인다. 이번 전시를 통해 선보일 작가들은 징쯔 두 (b.1995, 중국 엔타이 출생, 아일랜드 더블린 거주), 비앙카 필즈 (b.1995, 미국 클리브랜드 출생, 캔자스시티 거주), 카와이 카 즈히토 (b. 1984, 일본 이바라키 거주), 케이트 클링베일 (b. 1990, 미국 미시간주 출생, 위스콘신 거주), 나탈리아 곤잘레스 마 틴 (b. 1995, 스페인 마드리드 출생, 영국 런던 거주) 이다. LA에 위치한 갤러리에서는 위 소개된 작가들 외 더 많은 다양한 국적의 작가들과 함께하며 각각 다른 유형의 미디어에서 혁신적이고 독특한 작품들을 기획 전시한다. 특히, 본 부스는 위 소 개된 작가들과 그들의 작품들의 시너지를 더 부각하기 위하여 특정한 구도로 만들어졌다. 두는 마치 풍경을 연상시키는 형 체를 묘사한 흑백의 작품을 선보이고, 곤잘레스 마틴은 각 패널이 레다의 일부와 백조의 일부를 묘사하는 “레다와 백조”를 3 부작으로 선보인다. 카와이는 두 점의 회화 작품과 같은 단색의 조각품들, 그리고 클링베일과 필즈는 색감과 질감이 풍부한 조 각화를 선보인다.
Steve Turner is pleased to announce that it will exhibit at KIAF for the first time in September 2022. The gallery will feature works by five gallery artists: Jingze Du (born 1995, Yantai, China, lives Dublin, Ireland); Bianca Fields (born 1995, Cleveland, lives Kansas City); Kazuhito Kawai (born 1984, Ibaraki, Japan, lives Ibaraki); Kate Klingbeil (born 1990, Grosse Pointe, Michigan, lives Milwaukee) and Natalia Gonzalez Martin (born 1995, Montejo de la Sierra, Spain, lives London) who exemplify the gallery’s mission of representing diverse international artists that create innovative and distinctive works in a range of media. The booth was planned to highlight the synergy between the artists and their specific works. Kawai will present two painterly monochromatic sculptures while Klingbeil and Fields will present sculptural paintings that are rich with color and texture. Du will present black and white paintings that depict disembodied figures which suggest landscapes while Gonzalez Martin will present “Leda and The Swan” as a triptych, with each panel depicting part of Leda and part of the swan. Each artist is exhibiting in Korea for the first time.
